Imagine an entirely ordinary child. It runs around naked in the garden, at the public pool, everywhere, without worrying about having a few extra pounds, skin imperfections, or crooked feet. It can simply be itself and doesn't care about the gaze of strangers.

Now, picture a teenager in a physical education class standing in the corner feeling uncomfortable because they feel judged by others. They feel ashamed of their skin imperfections because others claim it's unhygienic or dirty. They feel self-conscious about their thicker thighs because everyone else looks different from them. They feel embarrassed about their body hair because it's more than what others have. And the list goes on.

In my photographic work, I aim to demonstrate that these "flaws" make us beautiful, intriguing, and unique. I show that there is beauty in every imperfection. Social media presents countless, diverse notions of perfection, making it impossible to conform to any single beauty standard.

Why should I be ashamed of my body? I embrace my uniqueness and take pride in what is considered a "flaw." It makes me distinct and beautiful. It sets me apart, defines me and my journey, and encompasses everything I've been through.

This body is given to us, and it's our responsibility to learn to love it. The goal should not be to fit into a mold or please others but to find contentment within oneself. Every body is beautiful and distinctive because of its peculiarities that society deems as flaws, and each body tells its own story. What's yours?
